The Story Behind Ekamkrit

I am Sreedevi—a lawyer by education, an entrepreneur by instinct, and a saree lover at heart.

Over the last two decades, my professional journey has taken many turns. I began in the courtroom, practicing law and learning the value of conviction, perseverance, and purpose. Life then led me into the world of IT and Human Resources, where I gained experience in understanding people, building relationships, and navigating a rapidly changing professional landscape.

Yet entrepreneurship was always calling.

Driven by a desire to create something of my own, I ventured into the hospitality industry and built a business that reflected my commitment to service, quality, and meaningful experiences. Each chapter of my journey taught me something valuable—but through every role, every challenge, and every milestone, one passion remained unchanged: my love for sarees.

For me, a saree is more than a garment. It is a story woven in threads, a celebration of heritage, craftsmanship, femininity, and identity. It carries memories, traditions, and the artistry of generations.

That enduring love became the inspiration for Ekamkrit.

Ekamkrit was born from a simple belief—that handloom is not just fabric; it is culture, craftsmanship, and the livelihood of countless artisans. The brand is my tribute to India’s rich weaving traditions and to the skilled hands that keep these traditions alive.

After more than 20 years of learning, evolving, and building across different industries, I found myself returning to what had always inspired me. Ekamkrit brings together my entrepreneurial experience and my lifelong passion for sarees, creating a brand that values authenticity, elegance, and timeless craftsmanship.

Every piece we curate is chosen with care, celebrating the beauty of handwoven textiles while connecting modern women with the stories behind them. We believe that when you wear a handloom saree, you wear more than fabric—you wear heritage, artistry, and a legacy of human skill.

Ekamkrit is not just a brand. It is the culmination of a journey, a celebration of tradition, and a commitment to preserving the beauty of handloom for generations to come.

From the courtroom to entrepreneurship, from hospitality to handloom—my journey has been diverse, but my destination was always woven in threads. Welcome to Ekamkrit.
